How to order the "STOMA-GUARDS":

- Choose which side your stoma is located on. (Left or Right)

- Measure around your body where your stoma is located. That is the belt size.

- Measure the diameter of the plastic ring on your wafer. Usually 1.75", 2.25", or 2.75"

- Decide how the thickness of the pad.  (0.50", 0.75", 1.00", 1.25")

How much clearance  is an important decision.

My recommendation is to have at least 1/4" of clearance between your stoma and the protector. For example if your stoma protrudes 1/4" and if you wear a two piece appliance, then your stoma will likely extend past the plastic ring of your wafer by about an 1/8”. In this case, the 1/2" pad on the stoma guard may be sufficient.  

But on the other hand if your output tends to be thick, then more clearance is recommended.

Note: The 0.75" pad is the most popular.
